Terra - Chapter 2Rodan ruthlessly shoved me into a jail cell. My cell was the only one in the small room. Nothing was in there with me but a dirt floor and a row of miniscule windows that were five feet off the ground. Under my clothes, my leg was bleeding. When Rodan pushed me down, my concealed knife had grazed my skin. Why the guards hadn't searched me for weapons was still a mystery to me, but I was partially grateful for the knife still being on my body.
"Wretched creature." Rodan spat at me. "The old mayor was a kind man who never sought to harm a fly. Mr. Carter made this town heaven. Now the new mayor makes it a hell. This is your fault, your doing. Tomorrow morning you will be hanged until dead. Good luck sleeping on that, Terra."
And then he left the room, locking the thick door behind him.
I sat in the middle of the chamber, amazed by how drastically my life had changed in such a short amount of time. This morning, I was making off with my meal of the day. Then the guards informed me that I'
Terra - Chapter 1Dashing down the street, I nearly ran into a scraggly, old cat and I had to leap over the hissing animal. The muddy thing followed me as my bare feet tore down the cobblestone road, probably because it wanted some of if not all of the piping-hot loaf of bread I was hugging to my chest. My mind temporarily drifted off of the cat. It was only a matter of time before I would twist my ankle, or slice my foot on the stones, or get caught. Or all three. An increasing cloud of fear tingled in my stomach and repeatedly warned me of the danger that I was in.
Quickly weaving my way through a crowd of people, I managed to lose the cat. I ducked, jumped, and pushed my way through. Only a matter of time. Only a matter of time. Soon my time would be up, and I would pay the consequences. Even while I was running, I could hear the thundering steps beating on the stones. Please, not today. I prayed, though to whom, I didn't know. All that I knew was that if I didn't find some cover soon, I'd suff
Terra PrologueWarm light filtered through the old cracked window in the house. The light shined on nothing but faded wood and two small figures, frozen still. Wooden floorboards creaked and sighed under a little girl's shifting weight. Her tiny, spindly fingers clutched the dingy once-white sheets that covered a sick, sick body. A hot tear ran down the girl's cheek, but she didn't cry out. Instead she gripped the sheets even tighter as her eyes swelled with pain.
Under the covers, the body convulsed and wheezed. Its hand reached out and managed to feebly grasp the girl's hand. Then the body spoke in a low, hushed voice that could barely be heard.
"Dear… I'm sorry. I can't hold on much longer." More wheezing followed the pain-filled words.
"What? No. You can't leave! Just stay! It's easy!" the girl said between her tears.
"I wish it was…"
"You can't leave me like Daddy did!" Frustration and hurt filled her voice.
"We can't control whether we leave or stay,"
"No!" The girl screamed. "No!
Zovix - Part 1"When I finish placing the bomb, do I come home?" Nothing came out of the speakers. He repeated his question, but he knew he could just ask again after Earth's destruction. After a while, Earth came into view from his pilot's window. His spacecraft was inconveniently slow but was heavily armed with very useful attack and defense systems.
Like any other of his kind, he was about ten feet tall with deadly sharp claws and teeth that went along well with the dark yet light colors of his fur. His body, unlike many Earthlings, could change from wolf to human to his true alien form, which was a combination of both – an erect wolf-like figure with strange cyan designs that permanently scarred his flanks. To the rest of his kind, they were like a written story of who he was, where he was from, and everything about him. Every one of his kind had similar characteristics. Oddly enough, this alien was a regular teenager.
Zovix, the alien, flew closer and closer to Earth but even more s
Zovix BackstoryMany years into the future, people have destroyed planet Earth more and more. Over a million species died off, the average winter temperature became sixty degrees, and the largest span of trees was the size of an amusement park. Most animals had become work animals for people and their needs. This included the wolf. Eventually, there were only about twenty left. Some of the best scientists came together to experiment on eight of the wolves so they could create a stronger animal more suited for their needs. But their experiment turned a horribly wrong turn, and in the mess, the scientists fused their bodies with the wolves. Since the wolves were naturally tougher and more resistant than the scientists, the wolves gained the intellect of the scientists (while the scientists themselves died), and the wolves grew into mutants that could transform from a wolf form to a human form, and a form that was a mix of both. This was a huge, erect werewolf-like creature that had extreme strength and
