Terra - Chapter 4“Terra?”
“Ughhhhh. What?” I didn’t appreciate people interrupting my sleep, especially if I was having a good dream.
“Time to go.” Mason said, shaking my arm.
I was immediately startled by the sense of urgency in his voice and I sat up. “What is it?” I asked in a hushed voice.
“Well… there might be… something trying to dig us out.”
When he mentioned it, I did hear something near the entrance. Little bits of dirt were raining down, and I heard something snuffling and scraping at the rock. I drew my knife, and Mason gripped his hammer. We waited… and waited.
“If we get killed, I’m blaming you.” I informed Mason.
“Yeah, well, I highly doubt-”
With a loud crash, the boulder that Mason had used to block the entrance fell down. The fire went out and the cave’s new light source was the sun.
